NU Wins Four More in Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Northwestern women's tennis team concluded its final pre-season day of action at the Mal Moore Invitational on Sunday.
The Wildcats won three of five singles matches against No. 30 Florida State in their final live action before the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
Manon Peri beat No. 46 Daneika Borthwick when the Seminole withdrew from the match before the third period got underway. Peri and Borthwick split the first two sets with Peri taking the first, 6-1. Senior Lok Sze Leung won her third match of the weekend with a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Kerrie Cartwright, and freshman Alex Chatt finished the day with a 6-3 one-set win over Lana Rush.
Northwestern picked up a doubles win on Sunday when Chatt and Erin Larner teamed up to beat Schippers and Rush, 6-3.
The `Cats begin the 2015 regular season by hosting three nationally-ranked foes as part of the ITA's annual Kick-Off Weekend. NU will welcome No. 21 Rice, No. 29 Kentucky and No. 32 Arizona State to Evanston for the event. Northwestern opens against the Sun Devils at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 inside the Combe Tennis Center.
