EVANSTON, Ill. -- One week after competing in the inaugural Annika Intercollegiate Sept. 28-30, Northwestern will play host to the seventh-annual Windy City Collegiate Classic Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 6-7, at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette, Ill.

A strong 15-team field once again descends on Chicagoland for what is becoming of the nation's premier women's college golf events. In addition to Northwestern, which is coming off its second 15th-place NCAA Championships finish in a row, the Windy City features 2014 NCAA Championships qualifiers USC (2nd), Arizona (t-7th), Ohio State (t-7th), Tulane (t-15th) and Iowa State (24th). Georgia, Kentucky, Miami, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Purdue and Wisconsin round out the field.

Those squads will compete in 36 holes of play beginning with 7:30 a.m. CT tee times off both the front and back nines on Monday, Oct. 6, before playing the final 18 holes in the same manner on Tuesday. Admission is FREE for all spectators.

Founded in 1911, Westmoreland Country Club has played host to the Western Open, the Western Amateur and both the Chicago District Golf Association's Women's Championship and USGA Women's Amateur Championship. The original 1912 course design by William Watson has undergone several renovations, most recently by Arthur Hills in 1993.

Northwestern is coming off a resounding victory in its first tournament of the year, achieving an eight-stroke win at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Sept. 15-16. Junior Suchaya Tangkamolprasert (Bangkok, Thailand/Bromsgrove International School) was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week in recognition of her second-place finish in that event while freshman Hannah Kim (Chula Vista, Calif./Otay Ranch) recorded a stellar college debut with a third-place finish.

NU had one more tournament prior to the Windy City, taking on another elite field at the inaugural 12-team Annika Intercollegiate Presented by 3M Sept. 28-30 in Orlando, Fla. The Wildcats earned entry into the new tournament by virtue of its current place in the college golf world; Northwestern has surged to the upper echelon in recent years, winning its first-ever Big Ten Championship in 2013 before capturing consecutive 15th-place NCAA finishes in 2013-14. The Wildcats' deep lineup earned four All-Big Ten awards a year ago and excelled on the summer circuit.

The Annika Intercollegiate was played at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla. Results are available via Golfstat.com. Four of the teams in the 12-team field will head north right away to tee it up at the Windy City: Arizona, Northwestern, Oklahoma State and USC.
