Northwestern Set to Begin Fall Season with Wildcat Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's women's tennis team is slated to kick off the fall campaign by hosting the Wildcat Invitational this weekend.
The event will run from Friday to Sunday with action beginning at 9 a.m.
In addition to Northwestern, the field includes players from DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Florida International, Kentucky, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, UIC and Western Michigan.
Matches will take place outdoors at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center, and admission is free.
Alicia Barnett, Manon Peri, Lok Sze Leung, Maddie Lipp will spend the weekend competing at the ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Barnett, Peri and Leung are competing in singles, while Barnett and Lipp team up to play doubles as will Peri and Leung. The ITA Championships run from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5.
Barnett was 14-8 in singles play a season ago, including a perfect 10-0 mark in Big Ten play. As a freshman, Peri played to a 13-6 mark and went 9-1 in the conference. Lipp was a solid doubles player a season ago, posting a 12-7 record.
