Tangkamolprasert Named WGCA All-American Scholar

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Suchaya Tangkamolprasert had a stellar 2013-14 season on the course for the Northwestern women's golf team and can now add a prestigious academic honor to her list of accolades for the year. The Bangkok, Thailand native was included on the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars list that was released on July 2.
The criteria for the selection to the All-American Scholar team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a required minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. Tangkamolprasert is one of more than 600 women's collegiate golfers from all three divisions (NCAA Division I, II & III) selected for the award.
Tangkamolprasert's sophomore campaign in 2013-14 included two top-10 finishes, four top-20 showings and a career-low scoring average of 74.66, which ranks fifth in NU single-season history. She came on strong during the postseason, leading NU at the NCAA West Regional and 2014 NCAA Championships with a 10th and 16th-place finish, respectively. She also achieved Academic All-Big Ten status in 2013-14 and started all 12 events for Northwestern.
