EVANSTON, Ill. -- After months of anticipation, Northwestern Lacrosse's visions of what it would be like to see their sport in one of Major League Baseball's most venerable venues became reality on Friday afternoon.

The Wildcats prepped for their Saturday night showdown with Southern Cal by practicing at the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field, touring the ballpark and getting their first run on the pristine grounds.

The stadium, which celebrated its 100th birthday on Wednesday (April 23), is ready to host its first lacrosse contest of any kind in more than 90 years when the seven-time NCAA champion Wildcats face upstart Southern Cal at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets to the event can be purchased at the Wrigley Field box office for just $10.

At 9-5 on the year, Northwestern is ranked No. 5 in the nation and gearing up for another postseason run that begins next weekend in the American Lacrosse Conference Tournament, slated for May 1-4 at Lakeside Field in Evanston.
