Spring 5K Race Series Coming to Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. -- As spring arrives in Chicago, Northwestern Cross Country is inviting runners of all ages and abilities to participate in its upcoming 5K Race Series on NU's scenic lakefront running path. With four available dates to participate, runners have a chance to track their progress over a one-month span, or simply get in a great workout with fellow Wildcats fans!
This season's 5K (3.1 mile) runs will be held at 6 p.m. CT on the following dates:
Tuesday, April 15 -- CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT CONDITIONS
Tuesday, April 29
Tuesday, May 13
Tuesday, June 3 *
( * On this date, all participants in grades 8-and-under will be free if accompanied by an adult runner)
All four races will begin on the lakefront just south of Northwestern's Lakeside Field athletic complex. Cost of entry is $10 for adults -- or $25 for all three races -- and $5 for youths 17 and under. The price of an adult entry also includes a coupon for a free drink at Bluestone Restaurant, valid only for the night of the event. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female participants.
All registration and check-in will take place on site beginning at 5:30 p.m. before each run. Checks made payable to Northwestern Cross Country are the preferred method of payment, though cash is also accepted. Participants must also sign and submit a waiver, linked at the top of this page in a PDF.
Parking at the Lakeside Field athletic complex is free after 4 p.m.
