NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Northwestern took to the track for the second time this spring on Friday, competing at the Chicagoland Championships hosted by North Central College. Sophomore Camille Blackman highlighted NU's efforts at the event, racing to third place in the 3,000-meter race with a personal-best time of 10:06.5.

The 'Cats also received a strong showing in the 1-mile event from another sophomore, Megan O'Brien, who placed fifth out of nearly 50 competitors with her time of 5:07.

Two more underclassmen, sophomore Renee Wellman and freshman Ellen Schmitz, represented Northwestern in the 5K and crossed the finish in seventh and eighth, respectively, with Wellman clocking a time of 18:39.8.

Complete results from the meet, which featured a wide collection of Chicagoland colleges and universities, are available in the PDF document linked at the top of the page. Next weekend, the Wildcats will be sending representatives to several meets, including the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame and the Margaret Bradley Invite hosted by the University of Chicago.
