EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern invites young baseball players ages 10-13 and 14-18 to the 2014 Wildcat Holiday Baseball Camps. The first camp will be held on Friday, November 28 with two more held on Sunday, December 28, all at Trienens Hall.
The Wildcat Holiday Camps are designed to improve and evaluate each camper's overall baseball skills set. Emphasis will be placed on the evaluation of skills, fielding, throwing, hitting, pitching and base running. On Friday, November 28, players ages 10-13 are invited to come work on drills and fundamentals of the game to help hone their skills from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The concentration will be on all areas of the game, including hitting, fielding, pitching and catching.
Two more camps will be offered to high school-aged players on Sunday, December 28. A pitching camp will held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. while a session focused on hitting and defense will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The goal is to allow campers to experience first-hand how Wildcats teach, practice, and play the game at Northwestern University. At the same time, it also offers the entire coaching staff the ability to evaluate players in a competitive and challenging environment.
