Roberta Alison Fall Classic Draws

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead, sending four players to Orlando, Fla. for the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational and three players to the Roberta Alison Fall Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Lok Sze Leung, Brooke Rischbieth, Manon Peri and Jillian Rooney will join players from 16 other women's teams at the USTA Clay Court Invitational at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World near Orlando, Fla.

The third annual event is hosted by Florida State and is the largest of its kind, featuring top talent from around the country.

Northwestern's four participants will begin first-round action on Thursday. Competition runs through Sunday, when the championship matches will be played. The first and final days will be delivered live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app. National coverage gets underway at 7 a.m. CT on Thursday.

Rischbieth will start the day off for NU, taking on Olga Martinez from South Florida in the "A" draw at 10 a.m. Peri is also in the "A" draw and matches up against Auburn's Paula de Man at 11:30 a.m.

In the "B" draw, Leung is set to meet Arijana Korac of Stetson in a match beginning at 11:30 a.m. and Rooney will meet Youngstown State's Annina Brendel at 1 p.m.

The Wildcats also have a couple doubles teams competing in Orlando. Rischbieth and Leung are partnered for an "A" draw match against Hortense Boscher and Katelyn Jackson from Texas Tech that begins at 7 a.m. Peri and Rooney will compete in the "B" draw and have a first-round bye.

Northwestern is sending the team's three freshmen to Tuscaloosa for the 27th annual Roberta Alison Classic on the campus of the University of Alabama. NU is one of 19 teams competing in the two day event.

Alex Chatt, Rheeya Doshi and Erin Larner will begin play Friday morning at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. Tournament action begins at 9 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

The `Cats brought home three singles and two doubles titles last season from the event.
