NU To Hold Inaugural Sports Performance Clinic in June

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern Athletics will host a day long Sports Performance Clinic on Saturday, June 15. The inaugural event will include lessons and demonstrations on exercise, fitness, power, speed and overall athletic prowess. Guests will hear from the Northwestern Sports Performance staff and various athletic trainers on how to best develop and maximize talent.
The clinic will be held at the Nicolet Football Center, which is located next to Ryan Field (2707 Ashland Avenue). Presentation topics for the day include:
9:45 a.m.: "Power and Force Production" • Tyler Jorgensen, Northwestern Assistant Director of Sports Performance
10:45 a.m.: "Acceleration and Change of Direction" • Tommy Christian, Co-Owner and Director of Training at TC Boost
12:30 p.m.: "Program and Design: Lacrosse and Field Sports" • Jason Pullara, Northwestern Director of Sports Performance
1:30 p.m.: "Corrective Exercise: Building an Effective Movement Base" • Joe Nudo, Northwestern Assistant Director of Sports Performance
2:30 p.m.: "Basketball Program and Design" • Mike Schweigert, Northwestern Assistant Director of Sports Performance
3:30 p.m.: "Hip, Knee and Shoulder Injuries" • Jen Tymkew and Juliet Barnes, Northwestern Staff Athletic Trainers
Breakout sessions will be held in between each presentation for more in-depth coverage and lunch is provided for all in attendance.
The cost of the clinic is $50 per person for those that pre-register before Wednesday, June 5. Walk-In Registration on the day of the clinic is also available with a fee of $60 per person.
