Aaron Hosmon Named Assistant AD For Compliance

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Two-time Northwestern graduate and five-year member of the NU Department of Athletics compliance department Aaron Hosmon has been elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, Deputy Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Welfare Janna Blais announced today.
Hosmon joined Northwestern in late 2007 as an assistant director of compliance before being promoted to director of compliance in January 2009. Hosmon earned his undergraduate degree from NU and a Master's degree in higher education and policy in 2007 while working as the coordinator of financial aid for entering students in the University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions, then as the assistant director of the College Sports Project in the Center for Data Collection and Analysis in Evanston.
Hosmon's duties include providing NCAA, Big Ten and institutional rules interpretations to Northwestern's staff, coaches and student-athletes, and extend to serving as the departmental liaison to NU's financial aid and student account offices. Hosmon also administers the National Letter of Intent Program for Northwestern.
During his four years as an undergraduate at Northwestern, Hosmon was a student athletic trainer for men's basketball, football, men's and women's soccer and field hockey, before serving as a student manager for the men's basketball team. Hosmon is a USSF-certified soccer referee and a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance.
