EVANSTON, Ill. -- The 2013-14 Northwestern women's basketball team has a number of new faces on this year's roster with freshmen Nia Coffey, Ashley Deary, Christen Inman and Allie Tuttle joining the Wildcat family. All four freshmen have played so far this year and have contributed to the team's 4-0 start.

You have already seen her play this year but it's time to get to know Allie Tuttle, a 6-4 forward/center from Cary, N.C. A standout at Panther Creek High School, Tuttle was a first-team all-conference selection and all-district honoree. She led the Catamounts in scoring and was a four-year starter on the varsity squad. Off the court, Tuttle was an active member of the National Honor Society, an honor roll recipient and AP Scholar with Honors award winner.

Tuttle and the Wildcats hit the road for the first time this season, taking on No. 17 California Sunday in Berkeley.

Get to know Northwestern newcomer Allie Tuttle:

Favorite spot on campus: The Lakefill

Favorite professional athlete: Tim Duncan

Favorite professional sports team: Carolina Hurricanes

TV shows I can't miss: Scandal, Revenge, Grey's Anatomy

Favorite movie(s): The Dark Knight, Pride & Prejudice, 50/50

Piece of advice my parents gave me before leaving for college: “Take advantage of every opportunity given to you these next four years.”

What I'm looking forward to doing in my first year at Northwestern: Meeting new people and adjusting to both collegiate basketball and collegiate academics.

I would describe my teammates as…: Crazy, hilarious and loveable

Best part about being a Wildcat: Being blessed with a large and successful second family

Why I picked Northwestern: It was a perfect balance of both the best academics and the best athletics
