Annual SAAC Canned Food Drive Kicks Off This Week

EVANSTON, Ill.-- Northwestern's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is hosting its annual Canned Food Drive beginning this week to benefit Family Focus Evanston.
The first opportunity to donate comes Friday night, November 22, when the men's basketball team hosts IUPUI at Welsh-Ryan Arena for a 7 p.m. tip. The drive continues when the 'Cats host Gardner-Webb on Monday, November 25 at 7 p.m. Canned food and monetary donations will also be accepted when Northwestern's women's basketball team welcomes NC State for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Thursday, December 5.
Northwestern is offering several great incentives to give this year. If fans do not already have a ticket to either basketball contest, they will be given the opportunity to purchase a Group Rate Ticket for $3 to women's basketball and $15 for men's basketball with a food donation. In addition, fans who donate Friday or Monday will be entered into a raffle to win a basketball signed by first-year head coach Chris Collins. Donors at the game on December 5 have the opportunity to win a ball signed by the entire 2013-14 Wildcats women's basketball squad.
SAAC is accepting donations on behalf of Family Focus Evanston. This Chicago-based organization provides family support and programs for parents and children, and is greatly benefitted by our donation during the holiday season.
