Wildcats Headed to Alabama for Roberta Alison Fall Classic

EVANSTON, Ill. – The women's tennis team travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala. this weekend to participate in the 26th Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by the University of Alabama. The two-day event will take place at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. Matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT on both Friday and Saturday. Sunday is an open date in case of inclement weather.
The tournament will consist of 12 singles and six doubles draws. Each draw consists of eight singles players or doubles teams. The first round of doubles and two rounds of singles will be played on Friday with two rounds of doubles and a round of singles finishing the tournament on Saturday.
Northwestern is one of 17 teams participating in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic. The others are Alabama, Clemson, Furman, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Loyola Marymount, Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Samford, Tennessee, Tulane, UAB, UNC-Greensboro and Vanderbilt.
Last season, Nida Hamilton teamed up with former Wildcat Linda Abu Mushrefova to earn a championship in a doubles draw at the event. Hamilton also finished third in her singles draw, while Alicia Barnett won the consolation final of her draw.
