Illini Open -- Individual Results 
URBANA, Ill. -- Northwestern freshman Ellen Patterson (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) and sophomore Jessie Baloga (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) paced the Wildcats in their appearance at Friday's Illini Open hosted by the University of Illinois, finishing third and fourth overall in a field of 56 runners. Patterson clocked in with a 5K time of 18:22, while Baloga recorded a season-best effort of 18:24.
Senior Nicole Oliver (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) also notched a top-10 finish on the afternoon with a time of 18:46, while sophomore Renee Wellman (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) dropped below the 19-minute mark (18:57) for the first time in three 5K outings this season.
No team scores were kept at the event, which also featured runners from Loyola (Chicago), Butler, Bradley and Eastern Illinois in addition to Illinois. Complete individual results from Urbana are available in the PDF document linked at the top of the page.
Next Sunday, Northwestern's top runners will join the rest of the conference at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships hosted by Purdue. Start time of the 6K event is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. CT in West Lafayette.
