Fans Vote Dan Gable Greatest Midlands Wrestler of All-Time

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The voting for the championship round of the Midlands All-Time Greatest Wrestler tournament is over, and with 66 percent of the vote six-time Midlands Champion Dan Gable has defeated four-time champion Cael Sanderson to be named the winner of the contest.
In the end it was Gable, a legendary wrestler at Iowa State and coach at Iowa, chosen by the fans. Gable was chosen over a number of wrestling legends including Sanderson, Bruce Baumgartner, Tom Brands, Kenny Monday, Dave Schultz, Ben Peterson, Joe Williams, Tim Cysewski and Jake Herbert among others.
Thank you to all the fans that participated in the contest, and congratulations to Dan Gable for being named the champion. Tickets to the 51st Midlands will be available soon.
