Sunday's Matches
No. 21 Northwestern travels to Edwardsville, Ill. to take on the Northern Iowa Panthers and the host SIU-Edwardsville Cougars in a tri-dual event on Sunday. The Wildcats will wrestle UNI at 2 p.m. followed by a match with SIU-E at 4 p.m.

Northwestern is 4-1 in nonconference duals so far this season and after this weekend, has two more duals (at Northern Illinois, at South Dakota State) scheduled against teams outside of the Big Ten.

Last Time Out
NU hosted No. 17 Nebraska at Welsh-Ryan Arena and fell short, losing by a 25-12 score. The 'Cats picked up victories by Alex Polizzi at 197 lbs., then-No. 18 Dominick Malone at 125 lbs., and then-No. 13 Pierce Harger at 165 lbs. Harger ended the meet with a quick first-period fall over Austin Wilson of the Cornhuskers in 1:56. All eyes were on then-No. 2 Jason Welch, wrestling for his 100th career victory, but he came up just short to No. 7 James Green, falling by a 9-8 score.

Another New Face
True freshman Jacob Berkowitz made his first career start last weekend against Nebraska. Berkowitz, who wrestled at 184 lbs. in open tournaments to start the season, filled in for the Wildcats at heavyweight against the Huskers. He wrestled a close match against Spencer Johnson, but was unable to record his first varsity victory in the 6-0 decision.

NU had three true freshmen in the starting lineup against Nebraska. Dominick Malone has been the starter all season at 125 lbs., and Garrison White made his first career start a week earlier against No. 4 Ohio State.
