Joe McKeown's Reflection On Pat Summitt's Legacy

"Today is a difficult day for everybody that is a part of Women's Basketball. I have known Pat Summitt for almost 30 years and consider her a great friend. Her impact on our game is well documented, but her class and dignity as a person always stands out for me.
When no one would play us at George Washington, Pat would always play. When my son was in the arena, she always found him. When we sold out games, she signed every autograph. In the NCAA Tourney, we would play great and she would get her team to play better.
Having dealt with dementia in my own family, I understand the challenges that are ahead. But knowing Pat, she will meet them head on and attack like she's Rocky. God bless her and her family."
