Olivia Duehr Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's Olivia Duehr (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week following her performance at the 2012 Cathedral City Classic last weekend.
Duehr hit .417 while slugging .917 at the tournament, compiling four RBIs in games against both Colorado State and No. 19 Oregon. Against the Rams, Duehr finished 3-for-4 with a home run and a steal while she brought NU back into the game against the ranked Ducks with a grand slam. She reached base in every game Northwestern played on the weekend, adding a pair of steals.
Through 13 games in her collegiate career, including eight against opponents ranked in one of the two top 25 polls at the time of the contest, Duehr is batting .314 with three home runs and a team-best 14 RBIs.
She shares this week's honor with Madie Eckstrom of Minnesota.
