Both teams struggled offensively to start the game. BGSU accumulated 11 points, but was just 4-of-15 from the field, before Hackney finally put NU on the board with a jumper with 9:24 to go in the first. Once they found the basket, the Wildcats were able to keep the scoring fairly back and forth, though struggled to overcome the initial deficit as Bowling Green took the 28-15 lead into halftime.

Hackney ended the first half on a high note, scoring five straight points, and picked up right where she left off in the second half, rattling off six-straight points and draining four of Northwestern's first five field goals. NU went 5-of-5 from the field to start the second and came within 10 points (35-25) with 17:13 to play.

The Falcons were able to extend their lead and went on a 10-0 run near the middle of the half to gain a 19-point advantage. Lauren Douglas and Hackney both landed in foul trouble as the `Cats slowly tried to chip away at the BGSU lead. The `Cats managed to get within 15 with five minutes but left, but in the end, Bowling Green pulled away to seal the victory.

Though Hackney fouled out with 2:40 left, she posted the team's highs of 15 points and eight rebounds.

Northwestern has a week off of competition before returning to Welsh-Ryan Arena, hosting No. 11 California on Monday, Dec. 17. Game time is set for 11 a.m. as it is the team's annual Field Trip Day.
