Turvy Heads to USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - Senior Kate Turvy represents Northwestern at the 2012 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships which get underway Thursday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Turvy earned a berth in the 32-player field by virtue of winning the ITA Midwest Regional singles title.

She'll open up competition at 3:30 p.m. Central time Thursday when she takes on Armstrong Atlantic State's Barbora Krtickova, the lone NCAA Division II competitor in the field.

The winner advances to take on the victor of the match between fifth-seeded Robin Armstrong of UCLA and Natalie Beazant of Rice in the round of 16 on Friday.
