Northwestern Finishes Wildcat Invitational Doubles Session On Top

EVANSTON, Ill.-- Doubles was the name of the game on Friday during the opening day of the Wildcat Invitational and Northwestern rolled to a title in Flight 'A' at the Combe Indoor Tennis Center.
Wind and rain in the forecast forced the players to relocate in the morning, but the change of venue was no issue for Northwestern's Linda Abu Mushrefova (Bradenton, Fla./Pendleton) and Nida Hamilton (Oak Brook, Ill./Hinsdale Central). The duo posted a trio of victories including an 8-4 triumph over South Carolina's Jacklin Alawi and Dominika Kanakova.
Singles play will begin on Saturday morning at the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center in Winnetka, Ill. Warm-ups will start at 8 a.m. with the first serve set for 9 a.m. Stay tuned to NUsports.com for updates throughout the day.
