Northwestern Athletic Communications Announces New Staff Hires

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hire of Betsy Golomski and Dan Yopchick to the Athletic Communications staff as assistant directors.
Golomski is serving as the primary sport contact for men's and women's soccer, wrestling and women's golf, while Yopchick is working with the volleyball, fencing and men's and women's tennis programs.
Golomski comes to NU after working in the public relations office for the Milwaukee Bucks since December 2009. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008 with a degree in journalism. Golomski served as a student assistant in the athletic communications office while at Wisconsin and went on to serve as a staff assistant at UW following her graduation. During her time in Madison, Golomski worked with the wrestling, women's tennis, women's golf and men's cross country teams while assisting with football, women's basketball and volleyball.
A 2006 graduate of the University of Iowa with degrees in journalism as well as health and sports studies, Yopchick joins the Northwestern staff following a stint in the athletic communications office at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Yopchick was the primary contact for the women's basketball, volleyball, baseball, cross country and track and field teams at UIC. He has also served as a media relations assistant for the Chicago White Sox, the media relations coordinator of the Bakersfield Blitz of arenafootball2 and a public relations manager for My Sports Dreams and National Coach Survey.
