EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern continues its 10-game homestand this weekend as it hosts Purdue in a three-game Big Ten series. Friday's series opener is slated for a 3 p.m. start at Rocky Miller Park.

Saturday's game is being televised live by Big Ten Network and also gets underway at 3 p.m. First pitch on Sunday is slated for 1 p.m.

A special spring Wildcat Alley is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Much like during the football season, the spring version of the Alley will feature games, food, face painting and chances to meet Wildcat student-athletes. There also will be a special Easter Egg Hunt for children of all ages.

To celebrate the festivities, baseball tickets for the day have been lowered to the standard group-rate of only $3.

The Wildcats have won three straight, including winning the last two games of their series against Minnesota at Target Field last weekend. After dropping Friday's opener 7-4, NU scored three runs in the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie in Saturday's contest to earn a 4-1 win. Paul Snieder singled in the go-ahead run, while Jack Livingston added a two-run double. Luke Farrell allowed just one run over seven strong innings to pick up the victory on the mound. Northwestern trailed 3-2 after six innnings in Sunday's finale, but got an RBI single from Chris Lashmet in the seventh and a sacrifice fly from Geoff Rowan in the eighth to post a 4-3 triumph. Ethan Bramschreiber pitched four shutout innings of relief to pick up the victory.

The Wildcats won two of three games with the Boilermakers in West Lafayette last season.

Scouting Purdue
The Boilermakers (25-12, 5-4 Big Ten) are coming off a 17-3 win at UIC on Wednesday and won two of three games at Penn State last weekend. Purdue leads the Big Ten in virtually every offensive category, including posting a .318 team batting average and 19 home runs. Cameron Perkins leads the team with a .374 average and 36 RBI. Starting pitchers Matt Morgan, Joe Haase and Brad Schreiber have a combined 12-2 record. Doug Schreiber (368-340) is in his 13th season as head coach.

Going Streaking
Junior Paul Snieder enters this weekend's series on a tear. Over the team's last 19 contests, Snieder is batting .441 (30-68) with eight doubles and 18 RBI. He has 10 multi-hit games over that span and has hit safely in each of the last 11 games. Both junior Trevor Stevens and senior Chris Lashmet have also put together extended hitting streaks this year. Stevens started the 2011 season by hitting safely in the Wildcats' first 11 games, batting .447 (17-38) over that span. Lashmet collected at least one hit in nine straight games from March 11-23. He had at least two hits in five consecutive games during the streak.

In a Pinch
Freshman left-handed hitter Jack Livingston has been outstanding as a pinch hitter this season. He is 6-for-10 in those situations with four of the hits going for doubles. Minnesota closer Scott Matyas had allowed just three hits in his 14 2/3 innings pitched entering last Friday, but Livingston had pinch-hit doubles off him on both Friday and Saturday. The second one drove in two runs in the eighth inning of the Wildcats' 4-1 win. Livingston actually has more doubles (9) than singles (8) and leads the squad with a .569 slugging percentage.

Bramschreiber Earns Big Ten Honor
Freshman pitcher Ethan Bramschreiber was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week April 11 for his efforts against Penn State April 9. The righty allowed just one hit over 4 2/3 innings of relief. He retired 10 of the first 11 batters he faced, recording a career-high six strikeouts. He followed up the performance by hurling four shutout innings in a win at Minnesota April 17. Bramschreiber leads all Northwestern pitchers with a 1.31 ERA.

Up Next...
The Wildcats return to action Tuesday when they host St. Xavier, followed by a Wednesday contest against North Central. Both games begin at 3 p.m. Northwestern hosts Illinois in Big Ten play next weekend.
