Jaeschke Garners WBCA/State Farm All-District Honors
Amy Jaeschke was named to the WBCA All-District team, it was announced today (March 16) by the WBCA in cooperation with State Farm. On Monday, March 21, the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team selection committee will review the 52 candidates and trim the list to 40 finalists, all of whom will be in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team. Jaeschke was one of five players chosen from Region 6, which also included fellow Big Ten standouts Kachine Alexander (Iowa), Kalisha Keane (Michigan State) and Jantel Lavender (Ohio State). Jaeschke is the first Wildcat to appear on the State Farm All-District ballot. Kristina Divjak is the most recent Wildcat to receive such an award, as she was a Kodak All-District performer in 1998.

Jaeschke Earns Spot On Final Wooden Award Ballot
Senior center Amy Jaeschke is a finalist for the 2011 Wooden Award, it was announced earlier this week by the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Jaeschke was one of only three student-athletes who was not on the Midseason list but made the final ballot, which consists of the nation's top 20 women's basketball players. She is the first Wildcat to earn a spot on the prestigious ballot.

Among Friends
The Wildcats joined Big Ten buddies Michigan and Wisconsin in the WNIT bracket, it was announced Tuesday. Last season, Michigan and Northwestern met in the WNIT Round of 16 in Ann Arbor. This year, the first time the two teams could conceivably meet would be in the event's quarterfinals. Five Conference schools--Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa and Penn State--earned berths in the NCAA Tourney.

Nice Work!
Northwestern's victory over Minnesota in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament pushed its win total to 18, which matches last season's count. Last year, the Wildcats finished 18-15 and advanced to the WNIT Round of 16. It was the first time in 13 years (since 1996-97) the program made a postseason appearance. Additionally, the win was NU's first Big Ten Tournament triumph since the 2000 season when tenth-seeded NU defeated seventh-seeded Iowa, 68-59.
