EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern sophomore forward Drew Crawford (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District V First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

By virtue of the honor, Crawford is now eligible for Academic All-America recognition.

He has a 3.58 grade-point average and currently ranks third on the team with an average of 12.8 points per game. A year ago, he became the first player in program history to be named Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

Crawford has topped 20 points in a game three times this season, including nearly recording a triple-double Dec. 20 against St. Francis (N.Y.), posting 25 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Northwestern (13-8, 3-7 Big Ten) returns to action at noon Saturday as it squares off against Illinois at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
