EVANSTON, ILL. -- The Wildcats take their talents to Columbia, Mo., for a matchup with Missouri at 4 p.m. Saturday. The contest is part of the second-annual Big 12/Big Ten Challenge. The inter-conference series began in 2010 and features a home-and-home format over a two-year agreement. Last year, NU bested Missouri in the event, 79-68, in Evanston. Saturday's game signals the beginning of a slower stretch for Northwestern, as no games are scheduled for next week due to finals. The Wildcats resume play at Chicagoland foe Loyola at 2 p.m. Sun., Dec. 10.

Last Time Out...
After building a sizeable 15-point lead with just over 10 minutes to play, Northwestern staved off a tenacious comeback attempt and ultimately defeated North Carolina State, 76-59, in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Wednesday in Evanston. Freshman Morgan Jones put together her first career double-double with a season-high 27 points--including 19 in the second half--and 11 boards.

Jones wasn't the only Wildcat freshman to assemble a double-double as point guard Karly Roser dished out 10 assists to go along with 10 points, her second double-double of the young season.

All Alone at the Top
Morgan Jones is the only freshman to appear in the Big Ten's top-20 leading scorers, coming in 13th with 14.3 ppg. She also ranks eighth in assists (3.7 apg), 10th in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and is tied for sixth in steals per game (2.3 spg).

Wildcats Pick Up Votes In AP Poll
After defeating No. 23 LSU Tuesday and giving No. 20 DePaul a run for its money Sunday afternoon, Northwestern garnered national attention, earning votes in this week's Associated Press poll. It is the first time this season NU has appeared in either poll.

All-Around Roser
Freshman Karly Roser has been an assist machine this season, averaging 8.0 per outing, tied for tops in the Big Ten. Roser set a Big Ten single-game high with 13 helpers against Illinois State. Earlier in that week versus Western Kentucky, the Canadian posted the first double-double of her career, a 12-point, 10-assist effort complemented by seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals. She registered her second double-double against NC State with 10 points and 10 assists.
Roser ranks fifth in the League in field goal percentage, connecting on exactly half of her attempts and, after recording a career-high six snatches against NC State, comes in sixth in steals, with 3.0 per game. In both categories, she is the only freshman to appear in the top six.

Roser also is featured on the BTN's "Gimme Five" audio blog this week.

`Tis The Season For Charitable Acts
Northwestern turned in a season-best 22-of-24 (91.7 percent) effort from the charity stripe Sunday against DePaul. For their effort, the 'Cats moved into 8th in the Big Ten (up from 11th). Ironically, the 29 attempts were spread between only four players. Both Dannielle Diamant and Morgan Jones were perfect from the line, combining to go 11-of-11, while Brittany Orban and Karly Roser went 11-of-13.
