She capped off the event with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Oklahoma's Marie-Pier Huet but was unable to play her title match due to time constraints.
This week's Community Service Athlete of the Week is senior Sophie Ewald (Berlin, Germany/Droste-Huelshoff Oberschule/Barron (Wis.) of the cross country team. Ewald visited Dawes Elementary School to assist with the school's Decathlon, a one-day fund-raiser in which students participate in 10 events of varying challenges while soliciting donations and pledges from family and friends.
