NU Announces Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior Audrey Huth (Shelby, Mich./Utica) of the cross country team and freshman Nikko Boxall (Auckland, New Zealand/Mt. Albert) have been named NU's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.
Huth ran just two seconds off her own Northwestern school-record time, crossing the 6K Wisconsin Invitational in 20:37 on Friday. Huth placed 22nd overall, the second-best showing by a Big Ten runner at the nationally competitive meet. NU placed 31st overall ahead of four Big Ten programs and has since moved up to No. 5 in the Midwest Regional rankings.
Boxall received co-Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors after scoring his second goal of the season Wednesday against Northern Illinois, which proved to be the game-winning goal in NU's 2-0 victory. Boxall also contributed to Northwestern's shutout victory at Penn State Sunday as the Wildcats ran their unbeaten streak to five games.
This week's Community Outreach Athlete of the Week is freshman Mark Szott (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) of the football team. Szott took the lead in organizing members of the football team to participate in Field Day on Friday, which entertained more than 100 children with the help of 161 NU student-athletes.
