EVANSTON, Ill. - Former Northwestern baseball pitcher John Trautwein was featured on this week's edition of BTN LiveBIG. Hosted by Dhani Jones, the program focuses on former Big Ten students and alumni making a difference in their communities.
Trautwein, who went on to pitch for the Boston Red Sox following his time at NU, was featured for establishing the Will to Live Foundation. The organization was created in memory of his son, Will, who took his own life in October 2010. The cause focuses on the importance of "Life Teammates" and teen suicide prevention.
For more information on the Will to Live Foundation, visit the organization's website or a profile on the Big Ten Network's LiveBig site.
In addition to John Trautwein, the feature included interviews with Northwestern head baseball coach Paul Stevens as well as Trautwein's former NU teammates Joe Girardi and Eric Mogentale.
