GREENVILLE, S.C. -- On the final day of action at the Furman Fall Invitational, Northwestern junior Elena Chernyakova and freshman Natalie Edell managed to win the flight three doubles title Sunday in South Carolina. Chernyakova and Edell defeated North Carolina's Jennifer Stone and Laura Slater, 8-3, in the final.
In flight two, the Northwestern tandem of junior Stacey Lee and sophomore Linda Abu Mushrefova came up short in their quest for a third-place finish Sunday, falling to UNC's Haley Hemm and Gina Suarez-Malaguti, 8-4.
Next week, head coach Claire Pollard will be sending a contingent of Wildcats to Los Angeles to compete in the annual All-American Championships tournament.
