EVANSTON, Ill. -- Following what Northwestern hopes will be a long run in the NCAA Championships, four Wildcats will remain in action in Athens, Ga., to compete in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. Senior Samantha Murray and Maria Mosolova are among those in the singles field of 64 while Lauren Lui and Elena Chernyakova were selected as one of 32 doubles teams.

Singles and doubles competitions are slated to run May 26-31 at the Dan Magill Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Georgia.

Mosolova, who last season was the No. 1 overall seed entering the singles championship en route to a second straight quarterfinal appearance, is seeded in the 9-16 range for the upcoming tournament. Mosolova is 29-12 overall in a junior season during which she won an ITA Midwest Regional singles title, racked up a 19-6 dual record at NU's No. 1 singles position and received All-Big Ten recognition for the third straight season.

Mosolova was the recipient of the Big Ten's automatic bid to the NCAA Singles Championship.

Murray, meanwhile, earned her fourth career invitation to the national singles tournament thanks to a stellar season in which she has gone 28-10 in singles play, posting an 18-7 mark in all dual matches and earning a current ranking of No. 41. She is on pace for her fourth straight season of 30-plus singles wins and has notched victories this year against players who at the time were ranked No. 10, No. 16 and No. 25.

On the doubles side, Lui is making her third appearance in the NCAA Doubles Championship and first alongside NCAA newcomer Chernyakova. The tandem played 11 matches at the No. 1 doubles spot in NU's lineup this season and is currently ranked No. 24 in the Campbell's/ITA College Tennis rankings.

Last season, Lui earned All-American status for the first time in her career as she and Georgia Rose battled their way to the tournament's quarterfinals in 2009.

Northwestern's first order of business, however, will be the NCAA Team Championship beginning with the first and second rounds hosted by Northwestern May 14-15. The Wildcats open their tournament against Miami (Ohio) at noon on May 14. For detailed information about the regional rounds, visit Northwestern's Tournament Central Web site.
