IOWA CITY, Iowa -- At the annual Big Ten Women's Tennis postseason banquet Thursday in Iowa City, a trio of Northwestern veterans were named to the 13-player 2010 All-Big Ten roster. Senior Samantha Murray became a four-time all-conference selection while senior Lauren Lui and junior Maria Mosolova each took home their third-career awards.

Murray (Altrincham, England/Altrincham Grammar) becomes the fourth Wildcat in program history to garner All-Big Ten recognition all four years of her career, joining Katherine Nasser, Cristelle Grier and Georgia Rose in that category.

Murray, currently ranked 39th nationally, posted a 26-10 overall singles record thus far that included a 9-1 run through the Big Ten as she finished her career with a 33-4 mark in Big Ten dual singles matches. The conference's 2007 Freshman of the Year, Murray moved up to No. 2 singles in NU's lineup this season after holding down the No. 3 spot the previous three years.

Filling that No. 3 position this season was Lui (Houston, Texas/Kinkaid), who did so in stellar fashion by notching a 19-3 dual record and a 27-11 overall record in her senior season. Lui's 14-match winning streak in the early portion of the dual season helped her move as high as No. 89 in the Campbell's ITA College Tennis rankings and she went on to win eight of her nine Big Ten matches, with seven of the victories coming in straight sets.

Mosolova (Moscow, Russia/No. 204), a two-time Big Ten Player of the Year award winner, also finished her conference slate with an 8-1 mark to improve to 25-1 in the league after three seasons. Mosolova, ranked No. 13 nationally, won the 2010 ITA Midwest Regional singles championship in October and defeated a total of seven top-30-ranked opponents this year.

Conference champion Michigan swept the major individual awards of Player of the Year (Denise Muresan), Freshman of the Year (Mimi Nguyen) and Coach of the Year (Ronni Bernstein).

The fifth-ranked Wildcats officially begin the defense of their 11 straight conference tournament titles Friday when they face No. 35 Ohio State at 2 p.m. in Iowa City. Live scoring is available on Iowa's official tournament Web site.
