Northwestern Concludes Regular Season at Boilermaker Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern plays its final tournament before the 2010 Big Ten Championships this Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25, when it travels to West Lafayette, Ind., for the 12-team Boilermaker Invitational.
The event, which includes seven Big Ten schools, begins Saturday with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start for 36 holes of play at the 7,465-yard, par-72 Kampen Course. The final round will be played Sunday with tee times getting underway at 7 a.m. CT.

The Boilermaker Invitational normally is a staple of Northwestern's spring schedule, though the Wildcats did not participate last year. In 2007 NU captured second in a 15-team field at the Invitational.
The 2010 version of the Boilermaker features Akron, Eastern Michigan, No. 19 Illinois, Indiana, No. 39 Iowa, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, No. 51 Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Toledo and Wisconsin in the field. Rankings are from the most recent data available at Golfstat.com.
Northwestern has finished in the top-5 in six of its nine tournaments this year entering the final regular-season event of 2009-10. The Wildcats have placed in the top-5 in all four of their spring tournaments, including a win at the Big Ten Match Play Championship.
