Hey everyone,

Our regular season is quickly nearing its end for this year. Last weekend we had two tough matches in Texas where we unfortunately came up short. But we have two home matches this weekend in the Big Ten against Iowa and Minnesota. These are our last two home matches of the season, so Sunday will be Senior Day for Speeds (Lauren Lui) and me. Any fans that can make it out to that match would be especially appreciated by both of us. It's hard to believe that it is already our Senior Day and that we both have only a few matches left as Wildcats so we are working to make the end of our careers as successful as possible.

A while ago Speeds and I made a 'Bucket List' of things we wanted to do before we graduate as we realized that there were still a lot of things to see or do in Chicago that we hadn't experienced. We have slowly been working our way through the list. One thing was to go to a Bulls game which we managed to do last week and we had a great time there, especially as I had never experienced an NBA game before. I have also completed a few more things from my list thanks to a visit from a friend from home who I tried to show the best sites of Chicago. It was great to just act like a tourist for that time. My highlight was going to the Signature Room in the Hancock Center as we had great views of the city.

On a completely unrelated note, there is a story from our recent road trip that I have to share. In Texas I was sharing a room with Kate Turvy -- and before I tell the story I have to apologize to Kate that yet again she is featured in our blog! -- and to entertain ourselves we decided to invent a new game. The game (or so we told the team) involved everyone writing a word associated with a certain topic on a piece of paper which was then put in a cup covered with a lid. The cup was then passed to the person next to us who would open the lid, read the note and then try to guess who or what the note was about. I know this sounds completely pointless and in reality it was, we just used it as a cover for our real game. Earlier in the day Kate and I had walked around town and found a pet store where we bought a mouse that we named Mini. We put our new little pet in one of these cups, told the team to play our 'game' and then when that special cup was passed around and the lid was opened, everyone saw Mini. The result were the loudest screams I have ever heard. Obviously the team was not entirely happy with the 'game' but Kate and I had a great time, and I think Mini did too.

On that note, hopefully we will see you all out at the courts on Senior Day!

Go 'Cats!
Sam
