Audrey Huth Takes 12th at NACAC Cross Country Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern cross country recently completed a busy weekend of events that included a 12th-place finish by freshman Audrey Huth at the NACAC Cross Country Championships in Tobago on Saturday. Huth finished the women's junior 4K race in 14:47.4 to place in the top half of a 25-runner field composed of runners from Canada, the U.S., Jamaica, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Huth's performance in the international event helped the U.S. place second in the team standings with 24 points. For more information on the annual NACAC Championships, read the official release posted by USA Track & Field.
On Friday, NU head coach April Likhite saw her Wildcats officially begin their competitive spring track season at the Gill Last Chance Invitational hosted by Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis. Northwestern placed two of the top three finishers in the meet's 5K race, with freshmen Ashley Greenwell and Lauren Neuschel taking second and third, respectively. Greenwell completed the race in a personal-best time of 18:37.24.
Eight more Northwestern runners ran a 3K distance during the 5K event, with sophomore Sophie Ewald posting a team season-best time of 10:12 and freshman Allegra Mayer tied her own personal-record time of 10:24.
Sophomore Hallie Busta paced the Wildcat contingent in the one-mile race, taking second overall in a field of 14 runners.
