EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern freshman Audrey Huth (Shelby, Mich./Utica), who led the Wildcats in five of six meets in which she competed last fall, is set to compete against the nation's best young runners at the U.S. Cross Country Championships Saturday in Spokane, Wash. Huth is one of 51 current entrants in the 6K race.

The junior race is composed of runners age 20 or younger who are members of the USA Track and Field organization. Only nine Division I universities--Northwestern, Baylor, Duke, Georgetown, North Carolina State, Providence, Syracuse and Washington--currently have representatives in the field.

Live webcasts of the championships will be available for fans on flotrack.org while post-race results will be available on USATF.org. In addition to the national titles up for grabs, open and junior men and women will qualify to represent Team USA at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships March 28 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Huth's fastest 6K time of her rookie campaign at Northwestern was 22:01 at the Bradley Classic on Oct. 16 in Peoria, Ill.

Following Huth's participation in this weekend's Cross Country Championships, Northwestern's spring competition schedule begins in earnest on March 5 at the Carthage Last Chance meet and the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame.
