Wildcats To Host Second-Annual Autism Awareness Day Sunday

EVANSTON, ILL. -- Northwestern women's basketball will host the second-annual Autism Awareness Day on Sunday, Dec. 5 as it hosts Missouri at 1 p.m. in the inaugural Big Ten/Big XII Challenge. The Wildcats are partnering with the Chicago Chapter of Autism Speaks to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorders. The game will feature a ceremonial tipoff and a halftime performance by the Chicago Boyz Acrobats. The first 200 kids at the game will receive a FREE Northwestern T-shirt.

Autism is a disorder near and dear to the heart of NU head coach Joe McKeown as his son, Joey, has autism. In the past, Northwestern has participated in the annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks, a 5K event held at Soldier Field.
