EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern learned on Sunday that sophomore Audrey Huth's stellar season will continue after Huth received a bid to the NCAA Championships hosted by Indiana State on Monday, Nov. 22. Huth becomes the first Wildcat to reach the NCAA Championships since NU qualified for the event as a team in 2002.

Huth is coming off a school-record-setting performance at Saturday's NCAA Midwest Regional meet at Bradley, where she completed the 6K course in 20:35 to cut 17 seconds off the previous mark previously set in 2002 by Rachel Evjen. Huth finished 17th in the individual standings at the event.

"Audrey ran a phenomenal race on Saturday, it was going to be a shame if she didn't move on," said NU head coach April Likhite. "This is a huge accomplishment for Audrey, particularly so early in her career. She's worked hard all season with this goal in the back of her mind. It's refreshing to see this happen to an individual who works hard day in and day out, striving to be the very best she can be."

Huth's selection hinged on the number of schools from NU's Midwest Region that received at-large team bids to the NCAA Championships. Once Kansas State became the fifth program in the region to draw an at-large invitation, Huth moved into one of the four available qualifying positions as one of the top individual finishers not on one of the qualifying teams.

The Midwest Region is the only USTFCCCA region in the nation to advance five teams to this year's championship meet.

A complete list of team and individual qualifiers for the 2010 NCAA Championships hosted by Indiana State is available in PDF format at the top of the page. The women's race is slated to begin at 11 a.m. CT on Monday and a live webcast from Terre Haute will be provided at that time on NCAA.com.
