Diamant, Mocchi Leave Team

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Dannielle Diamant and Maggie Mocchi have left the team for personal reasons, head coach Joe McKeown announced today. Diamant is expected to return to the team in January.

The Wildcats open the 2010-11 season Friday at 7 p.m. against Dartmouth. Northwestern returns four of its five starters from last season, including Naismith Trophy Watch List member Amy Jaeschke. The 'Cats enter the season on the heels of one of the most successful campaigns in Wildcat annals. NU recorded the fourth-best turnaround among BCS schools last season, and reached the postseason for the first time in 13 years. The 'Cats earned a bid to the WNIT and made some noise, cruising to the Round of 16.
