EVANSTON, Ill. --Northwestern head women's basketball coach Joe McKeown has announced the signing of Inesha Hale (Raytown, Mo./Raytown) to a National Letter of Intent. Hale, a 5-9 point guard from Raytown, Mo., joins two early period signees, Inga Orekhova and Dannielle Diamant as part of next year's class. ESPN HoopGurlz ranked Northwestern's class 27th nationally prior to Hale's signing.

"Inesha is an outstanding guard and we're extremely excited to add her to our program," McKeown said. "What makes her special on the court is her ability to play multiple positions. Her quickness and athleticism will help us reach a high-tempo style of play that I think is critical to the success of our program. Off the court, she is a tremendous student and will be a great addition to our program as we try to attract student-athletes, in the true sense of the word, on a national level. She plays for an outstanding high school program and coach, Jan Handley, and also an exceptional AAU program in the KC-Select with coach Earnest Jones. Both of those coaches have prepared her well for the high quality of basketball that is played in the Big Ten."

Hale was ranked No. 14 at the point guard position by Scouts, Inc., and was tabbed No. 87 nationally overall by ESPN's Hoopgurlz. The honor roll student was an all-state selection and team MVP her junior and senior years, while also leading Raytown to back-to-back conference championships and district titles during that time. Hale also participated in the 2009 Missouri-Kansas All-Star game and has been a member of the KC-Select AAU program for the past two seasons.
