EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 1 Northwestern's final road trip of the regular season turned out to be a perfect one as the Wildcats recorded back-to-back sweeps, finishing with a 7-0 victory at Iowa on Sunday afternoon. NU lost just one set in singles play with freshman Stacey Lee notching the clinching fourth point for the 'Cats at No. 6 singles.

Sunday's win marked the first time since the opening dual matches of the season against New Mexico and Tulsa that Northwestern (20-1, 8-0) swept consecutive matches.

In doubles action, Maria Mosolova and Keri Robison won their 11th consecutive match at second doubles, getting off the courts first with an easy 8-0 win against Alexis Dorr and Kelcie Klockenga. Freshman Elena Chernyakova teamed with senior Nazlie Ghazal for the second time this weekend and clinched the doubles point with an 8-3 victory at the No. 3 spot over Lynn Poggensee-Wei and Ally Majercik.

In addition to her second doubles dual win this year, Ghazal also picked up her first win at the third singles spot with a three-set victory over Peggensee-Wei. After dropping the first set 6-2, Ghazal took over the match to take the next two sets by matching 6-1 decisions as she moved to 17-1 in dual play.

No. 20 Georgia Rose stepped up to the top singles spot and defeated No. 87 Sonja Molnar 6-2, 6-3 while her doubles partner, Lauren Lui, came up with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Alexis Dorr at the second position.

A day after winning at Minnesota by a 6-1, 6-0 score, Robison continued her streak of consecutive games won thanks to a 6-0, 6-0 win against Kelcie Klockenga of Iowa. NU's freshman duo of Chernyakova and Lee rounded out the wins for Northwestern with their respective victories over Iowa's Jessica Young and Ally Majercik at fifth and sixth singles.
