Eric Nilsson Earns Bid to NCAA Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Eric Nilsson (Weston, Mass./Weston) will represent Northwestern at the 2009 NCAA Championships March 26-28 in College Station, Texas, in three individual events.
Nilsson earned entry into the meet with his NCAA 'B' provisional cut in the 500 free, where he is seeded 24th. He also will compete in the 200 free (seeded 25th) and the 200 fly (32nd). Nilsson is a five-time All-American, earning an individual honor in the 500 free as a sophomore in 2007.
Nilsson took second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free at the Big Ten Championships last month while also qualifying for the championship final in the 200 fly. The senior broke his own school record in the 500 during the 'A' final of the conference meet.
