2009 Northwestern Baseball Promotions Announced

Evanston, Ill. - Northwestern Athletics has announced the baseball promotional schedule for the upcoming 2009 home schedule. Highlights of the upcoming season include a new ticket option, Cubs-Sox Weekend (March 28-29), Scout Day (April 19), Midwest Prep Baseball Day (May 14) and Family Fun Sundays.
The season kicks off with the first home weekend series, March 27-29 against Purdue. During this series Northwestern will host Chicago Baseball Opening Weekend. Fans are encouraged to wear their White Sox gear on March 28th to win a pair of Opening Day tickets to U.S. Cellular Park. On the following day, March 29th, fans can wear their Cubs clothing as they cheer on the 'Cats for a chance to win a pair of Cubs tickets.
Northwestern will next welcome the Iowa Hawkeyes to Rocky Miller Park the weekend of April 17-19. Saturday April 18th is U.S. Cellular Day at Rocky Miller Park. The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a free Northwestern visor courtesy of U.S. Cellular, the official cell phone service provider of Northwestern Athletics. On Sunday, April 19th, the 'Cats will host Scout Day at the ballpark. Scouts will have the opportunity to take the field with the 'Cats for the anthem and then join the players and coaches for a post-game clinic. All scouts in attendance will also receive a free patch.
During the weekend of May 1-3, the Fighting Illini of Illinois travel to Evanston for a three-game series. Each day the first 150 fans in attendance will receive a "Beat Illinois" rally towel. On Saturday May 2nd, Northwestern Baseball will celebrate Derby Day at Rocky Miller Park. Fans will have a chance to participate in Derby related games and are encouraged to wear their biggest and most obnoxious hats to the game for prizes.
The final home series of the season will take place May 14-16, when the 'Cats battle the Michigan Wolverines. On Thursday, May 14th, all area high school baseball teams are invited out to the game for Midwest Prep Baseball Day. Admission is free for all players and coaching staff who register for this event as Northwestern recognizes the outstanding student at-athletes who have chosen to play at Northwestern.

Lou Malnati's Flashback Fridays

At each Friday home game, fans are invited to flashback to past decades with great music and games. Fans will also have the chance to take advantage of great offers and prizes courtesy of Lou Malnati's, the official pizza of Northwestern Baseball.
Krakus Ham Bingo Saturday

Each Saturday, all fans can participate in Krakus Ham Bingo. Fans will receive free bingo cards at the ticket gate. Bingo numbers will be called throughout the game. The first five winners each date will win a $25 Krakus Ham Gift Certificate.
Family Fun Sundays

For each Sunday game kids in the 8th grade and under will receive $2 admission. Game day highlights will include sign making areas, face painting, and more. Family Fun Sundays will also feature 'Field of Dreams', where all youth will have the opportunity to run out on the field with the Northwestern starters for the National Anthem. As well, kids will have the opportunity after the game to run the bases at Rocky Miller Park, and collect autographs from the players. One lucky kid will have the chance to start the game by saying those famous words, "Play Ball!" as the official "Play Ball" Kid of the Game.
New for the 2009 season is the Five-game Flex Pass. Fans can purchase this $20 ticket option for five general admission entries. These entries can be used by one fan at five different games or by five different fans at one game…the choice is yours!
All home baseball games are held at Rocky Miller Park. Adult tickets are $7, Youth and Seniors $4, and free for students with a WildCARD. Five-Game Flex Passes are also available for only $20, which allows admission into any five home games during the 2009 season.
