Wildcats Draw Wisconsin in First Round of Big Ten Tournament

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Northwestern will face seventh-seeded Wisconsin in the opening round of the 2008-09 Big Ten Tournament Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tip is set for 11 a.m. CT and will be carried live on the Big Ten Network.
The Wildcats, who finished the regular season tied with Michigan, secured the 10th seed in the tourney thanks to tie-breaking rules. The two teams split in head-to-head action, but Northwestern's 62-53 victory over Minnesota Monday night gave the 'Cats the edge when calculating both team's records against the top seeds.
Northwestern won the only meeting between the two teams this season--a 49-46 decision back on Jan. 4 at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The Badgers finished with a 6-12 conference mark.
All-session ($65) and single-session ($12-16) tickets for the 2009 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament are still available and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Conseco Fieldhouse box office, Ticketmaster charge-by-phone numbers and www.ticketmaster.com.
