ATLANTA, Ga. -- Junior center Amy Jaeschke (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) was named to the preseason Naismith Watch List, it was announced today by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. It is the second time in as many years that the Wilmette, Ill., native has received the honor.
The watch list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club's Board of Selectors, which based its criteria on player performances from the previous year and expectations for the 2009-10 college basketball season. Jaeschke, an All-America candidate for the 'Cats, has led NU in scoring and rebounding the past two seasons, averaging 13.7 ppg and 7.6 rpg while recording 147 blocks. Her 3.2 rejections per game last season ranked fifth in the nation and her 96 total blocks topped the single-season Wildcat record books.
