EVANSTON, Ill. -- Wildcat sophomore Caroline Dagley (San Rafael, Calif./The Branson School) of the women's soccer team and junior Stefan Demos (Scottsdale, Ariz./Horizon) of the football team have been named NU's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week for their performances over the weekend.

Dagley came off the bench Sunday to contribute assists on both of Northwestern's goals in a 2-2 tie on the road against Big Ten rival Michigan. After the Wildcats fell behind 2-0, Dagley set up teammates Sam Greene and Jessica Palo for their goals for the first points of her career at NU. The transfer from California also recorded two shots against the Wolverines.

Demos connected on field goal attempts of 18, 35, 25 and 39 yards at Purdue's Ross-Ade Stadium Saturday to help Northwestern erase a 21-3 deficit and win a 27-21 decision over the Boilermakers. Demos, who was named Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week, is a perfect 8-for-8 on field goals this season and is the only starting kicker in the Big Ten to have not missed a field goal. Demos handles all of NU's kickoff, punting and placekicking duties.

This week's Community Service Athlete of the Week is senior Kay Sampson (San Francisco, Calif./The Drew School) of the women's soccer team. Sampson and other members of the women's soccer team have continued their volunteer program at the local Rice Children and Family Center, whose goal is to provide help, hope and opportunity to children and families in need. On a weekly basis, Sampson and her teammates use their time away from athletic and academic commitments to tutor or play with Rice's students.
