GLENCOE, Ill. -- Sophomore Sam Chien (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) is tied for the lead after the first day of play Sunday at the 13th Windon Memorial Classic at Skokie Country Club. Play was suspended Sunday night due to darkness with all groups needing to finish at least one hole when competition resumes Monday morning.

Chien is 1-over par with three holes to play in the second round after firing a 4-over 75 in the opening 18 holes and currently standing at 3-under par in the second. He leads a Northwestern contingent that is in third place at 20-over par. The Wildcats fired a 15-over 299 in the morning and are 5-over as a team in the evening round.

Play will continue at 8:30 a.m. CT Monday morning as a shotgun start. Once players complete their second round, the same pairs will move to the next hole and begin their final rounds contiguous to the second.

Junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) is in 25th place at 7-over par. He fired a 4-over 75 in the morning and is 3-over on his second round. Sophomore Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) is in 31st at 8-over par. After a 7-over 78 in the opening round, he has rebounded to 1-over through 15 holes in the middle round.

Junior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) also is in 31st at 8-over par through 15 holes in the second round, while senior Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) is 41st at 9-over. He shot a 5-over 76 in the first and is 4-over during the second round with two holes to play.

Northwestern finished the first round of play in a fifth-place tie with fourth-ranked Tennessee at 15-over 299, six strokes behind Michigan in first. Dupont was the Wildcats' leader after the opening 18 holes in sixth place while Chien and Lipsky were tied for 19th. Playing as an individual, Ravi Patel (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) also was in 19th at 4-over 75. Patel continued his strong play in the second round, currently ranking 15th in the individual standings at 6-over. He is 2-over par in his second 18 holes with four holes remaining.

Senior Matt Denison (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) is in 54th and freshman Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) is 75th competing as individuals for Northwestern.
