The Wildcats appreciate the support of all of the fans who have been cheering on the 'Cats this season, especially the more than 400 Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and family members who helped the team to victory on Sunday. As part of Scout Day, 2009 scouts were invited to a pregame clinic with the team and the coaches, which included drills on shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding and defense. They also went on an exclusive tour of the new basketball locker room and had their questions answered by the team before the game. All scouts in attendance received the official Scout Day patch, a Wildcat Basketball water bottle and purple pom-pons.

Check out some of the highlights of the day for Girl Scout Elizabeth Wenzel, as told by her parents Matt and Donna Wenzel:

"It was an amazing day. It was an exciting victory as well, but the outcome of the game was only a part of what made the day enjoyable. We were one of the early families, and Coach McKeown came into the bleachers to talk with us one-on-one and introduced himself to every person in the stands at that time, each person individually. This was absolutely remarkable and it showed what a genuine person he is as he asked the girls questions and listened to the answers.

"All of the ladies on the team were just excellent with the kids. You could tell that the ladies and the scouts were completely enjoying themselves. The players showed lots of 'character' -- something that Coach McKeown talked about later. And, as parents, we were super impressed when the Coach answered the question about 'what do you look for in players, and how does one get a scholarship'. His answer was 'Academics and Character' and then he expanded on those items. Very impressive. He went on to mention his two players with a 4.0 and the team average of over 3.0. Even more impressive!

"The school, the ladies and the Coach should all be proud. And thank you to the staff, the players and the Coach.

"See you next time!"
