Mosolova and Rose Advance to Singles Finals at Furman Invite

Furman Invite Results - Day Two
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern completed its second day of competition at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C., with both No. 6 Maria Mosolova and No. 11 Georgia Rose advancing to the finals of their respective singles flights. Mosolova will take on Monica Arguello of Furman in the flight two finals while Rose will go up against Jackie Wu of Vanderbilt Sunday at 9 a.m.
Mosolova defeated Natasa Vuckovic of South Carolina (6-2, 6-2) and Josipa Bek of Clemson (6-4, 4-6, 7-5) on her way to the finals in flight two. Rose knocked off Ina Hadziselimovic (6-4, 7-5) and Miki Jocic of South Carolina (6-4, 6-0) to earn a berth in the finals in flight three.
In her first collegiate tournament, freshman Elena Chernyakova fell to No. 40-ranked Catherine Newman of Vanderbilt in the top flight of singles action. Junior Lauren Lui will vie for fifth place in the fourth bracket against Federica van Adrichem of Clemson Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
